Even during the ancient periods special technology has been used for the manufacture of steel used for these swords. Later on, still better sickle shaped swords were produced with decorated handles and sharper blades. The power of these swords is attributed to their shape. They are bent inside near the handle and the other way about at the tip.
It is a beautiful sword for collectors and they should be used carefully. The present day replicas also manufactured with high carbon steel to make them very sharp. They always are available with the protective sheaths which are called the scabbards in the ancient jargon. These medieval swords could go into the collection of swords of any sword collector. They will have a special place due to their specific sickle shape.
