Times are tough. We are all looking to cut our expenses. Less going out for dinner, more home cooked meals.  But are you still using bottled water? If you are you may want to go to filtered water right at your tap at the kitchen sink. You can save a ton of money. Well, maybe not a ton, but a lot!  You see bottled water usually runs at least a couple of dollars per gallon of water. Plus the tremendous amount of water those plastic water bottles that get dumped into our landfills makes you think twice. I had to present an award recently for someone in my line of work, and because I’m a sea mammal lover, I wanted to wear something with a lot of punch to make a point. I discovered a unique sterling silver dolphin pin pendant designed by an artist, which really made my day. It is beautifully polished, and the expression on its face reminds me of these playful and lovely animals. Worn as a pin on my little black dress, I felt completely dressed up, and proud to be making a statement in front of a large crowd of people. Read more…

I love traditional beef stroganoff.  All that creamy sauce, tender beef, and mushrooms poured over hot buttery egg noodles… what’s not to love?  Well, maybe having to watch it bubbling on the stove, being careful that it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan and scorch.  Problem solved!  A simple and delicious crock pot beef stroganoff is just the ticket!  Even though this is a crock pot recipe, there really aren’t any short cuts to making this stroganoff, which I appreciate.  I don’t think beef stroganoff should drift too far from it’s original form – beef, mushrooms, and onion drenched in sour cream and served over egg noodles.
